This specimen was lot 75220 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2022), where it sold for $240. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDONESIA. 500 Rupiah, 1970. NGC PROOF-67 Ultra Cameo. Commemorating of the 25th Anniversary of Independence. A stunning example, this Superb-Gem Proof displays a sharp cameo delineation between deeply frosted device mirrored field. A lovely specimen that appeals to the eyes and is certain to receive many strong bids." This NCLT is one of an extensive series of commemoratives issued in 1970. The obverse features a Wayang dancer. Some Indonesian commemorative issues are so rare the SCWC lacks a photo of them. In 1982, US$1 = 650 rupiah; today (November 2022) US$1 = 15,654 rupiah.
