This specimen was lot 31828 in Heritage sale 3076 (Long Beach, CA, September 2019), where it sold for $4,680. The catalog description[1] noted, "Indonesia. Republic gold Proof "Garuda Bird" 20000 Rupiah 1970 PR64 Ultra Cameo NGC. Produced to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of Independence, and depicting the mythical Garuda bird. Devices immaculately frosted with glossy reflectivity behind." Some Indonesian commemorative issues are so rare the SCWC lacks a photo of them. In 1982, US$1 = 650 rupiah; today (October 2019) US$1 = 14,138 rupiah.

Recorded mintage: 1,285 proofs.
