This specimen was lot 1376 in Stephen Album sale 41 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2021), where it sold for $720. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDONESIA: Republic, AR 750 rupiah, 1970, 25th Anniversary of Independence - Garuda Bird, with COA and original case of issue, PCGS graded Proof 68 DCAM." Being a scattered series of islands with differing traditions, Indonesia has struggled to remain a cohesive nation, hampered by corruption on a colossal scale. Some Indonesian commemorative issues are so rare the SCWC lacks a photo of them. In 1982, US$1 = 650 rupiah; today (October 2019) US$1 = 14,138 rupiah.

Recorded mintage: unknown but all proofs.

Specification: 30 g, 0.999 fine silver, 45 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM-26.
