This specimen was lot 76128 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $85. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. 1/4 Rupee, 1926-(C). Calcutta Mint. George V. PCGS MS-64." This type was struck 1912-20, 1925-30, 1934 and 1936 at Calcutta and Bombay. The 1926 was struck only at Calcutta. In the 1950's and 1960's both mints restruck coins of the Raj for sale to collectors; many restrikes may be distinguished by rusty dies.
