This specimen was lot 23441 in Heritage sale 61343 (Dallas, TX, November 2023), where it sold for $504. The catalog description[1] noted, "Honduras. Republic Peso 1902 XF40 PCGS, Tegucigalpa mint." This type was struck 1883-95, 1899, 1902-04 and 1914. The mint's struggle with obsolete equipment is evidenced by the many overdates and varieties noted in the series. A gold peso was also struck in 1902.
Recorded mintage: unknown but a better date.
Specification: 25 g, 0.900 fine silver, 38 mm diameter.
