Künker sale 386, lot 5224

This specimen was lot 5224 in Künker sale 386 (Osnabrück, March 2023), where it sold for €260 (about US$336 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRAUNSCHWEIG-CALENBERG-HANNOVER, AB 1692 KURFÜRSTENTUM HANNOVER, Georg III. 1760-1820. 1/3 Taler 1791, Clausthal. Hübsche Patina, fast Stempelglanz. (electorate of Hannover, George III, 1760-1820, one-third thaler of 1791, Clausthal mint. Handsome patina, about uncirculated.)"

This type was struck 1789-91 and 1800 and is slightly scarce. No 12 mariengroschen was struck in 1791.
