Hannover 1792-C 24 mariengroschen KM-341

from the Stack's Bowers 2018 ANA sale, lot 22559

This specimen was lot 22559 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it did not sell. The catalog description^[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneberg-Calenberg-Hannover. 24 Mariengroschen (2/3 Taler), 1792-C. George III (1760-1814). NGC EF-45. Fully original with attractive earthen tone over each side. Issued under the authority of George III who was also the King of Great Britain." This type was struck 1761-1801 and is common. Similar coins include a "wild man" 24 mariengroschen (KM 347, struck 1762-84) and a 2/3 thaler (KM 365, portrait obverse, struck 1772-1800).
