This specimen was lot 73299 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2023), where it sold for $168. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Hannover. 6 Mariengroschen (1/6 Taler), 1787-IWS. Zellerfeld Mint. Georg III (George III of Great Britain). PCGS AU-58. This attractive specimen exhibits lustrous undertones beneath light cabinet toning. Hints of champagne, gun-metal blue, and russet tones can be seen throughout. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This denomination was struck with a bust obverse 1786-89. The wild man reverse appears on KM 386 dated 1787-C.
