Künker sale 386, lot 5218

This specimen was lot 5218 in Künker sale 386 (Osnabrück, March 2023), where it sold for €2,000 (about US$2,585 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRAUNSCHWEIG-CALENBERG-HANNOVER, AB 1692 KURFÜRSTENTUM HANNOVER, Georg III. 1760-1820. Reichstaler 1765, Zellerfeld. Ausbeute der Grube Segen Gottes. RR Feine Patina, winz. Schrötlingsfehler, vorzüglich. (electorate of Hannover, George III, 1760-1820, thaler of 1765, Zellerfeld mint, for the "God's Blessings" mine. Very rare, fine patina, minor planchet flaws, extremely fine.)"

This mining thaler was struck 1765 only and is expensive. Other thalers of 1765 include KM 343 (St. Andrew reverse) and KM 354 (wild man reverse).
