Hannover 1755-IAS goldgulden Fr-611
This specimen was lot 3590 in Künker sale 294 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €550 (about US$741 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRAUNSCHWEIG UND LÜNEBURG, BRAUNSCHWEIG-CALENBERG-HANNOVER, Georg II. 1727-1760. Goldgulden (2 Taler) 1755, Hannover. GOLD. Fast vorzüglich. (Germany, electorate of Hannover, George II, 1727-60, goldgulden (double thaler) of 1755, Hannover mint. About extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1753-56 and is fairly available. The Duchy of Brunswick was divided and subdivided in the seventeenth century but was eventually reassembled as the Kingdom of Hannover before being absorbed into Prussia in 1866.
