Hannover 1755-IBH 1/3 thaler
This specimen was lot 73614 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2023), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Hannover. 12 Mariengroschen (1/3 Taler), 1755-IBH. Zellerfeld Mint. Georg II August (George II of Great Britain). PCGS AU-55. A solid and attractive argent example with light gold toning in protected areas. Slight weakness in the center of the reverse shield noted for completeness. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection. Includes ticket from Kuenker." The 12 mariengroschen was last struck in Hannover in 1715. This one third thaler was struck 1737-60 almost without interruption.
