Hannover 1723-B 1/6 thaler
This specimen was lot 5699 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €90 (about US$125 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRAUNSCHWEIG UND LÜNEBURG, BRAUNSCHWEIG-LÜNEBURG, FÜRSTENTUM, - als Georg I. König von Großbritannien, 1714-1727. 1/6 Taler 1723, Clausthal. Vorzüglich. Aus der Sammlung eines Ingenieurs. Exemplar der Auktion Münzzentrum 105, Köln 2001, Nr. 3393. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Luneburg-Calenberg-Hannover, as George I, king of Great Britain, 1714-27, one sixth thaler of 1723, Clausthal mint. Extremely fine.)"
This type with the king's bust on the obverse was struck 1716-26. This denomination was also struck with a wild man reverse (KM 109), a leaping stallion reverse (KM 143) and a St. Andrew reverse (KM 144).
