This specimen was lot 3173 in Sincona sale 51 (Zürich, October 2018), where it sold for 1,100 CHF (about US$1,327 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Braunschweig-Lüneburg-Calenberg-Hannover, Herzogtum, Georg Ludwig (Georg I.), 1698-1727. 1/4 Taler 1703, Clausthal. Von grösster Seltenheit. Gutes sehr schön. Feine Patina. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Luneburg-Calenberg-Hannover, George Louis I, 1698-1727, quarter thaler of 1703, Clausthal mint. Extremely rare, Good very fine, Nice toning.)"
This one year type is the only quarter thaler with the leaping stallion.
