This specimen was lot 24320 in Heritage sale 3024 (Chicago, April 2013), where it sold for $1,057.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Victoria Shilling 1866, Young Head, Die #7, MS66+ PCGS, a splendid coin, even finer than the last one (this from a different obverse die), no die clashing, super-bold strike, flashy cartwheel luster, and unusually fine bluish amber-gold iridescent toning. If you love 'ultimate' shillings, this coin's for you! From The Kairos Collection." This type was struck 1838-67 in large quantities with a slightly modified obverse continuing until 1887.

Recorded mintage: 4,990,000.

Specification: 5.65 g, 0.925 fine silver, .168 troy oz ASW.
