The first specimen shown was lot 2262 in Aureo y Calicó sale 232 (Barcelona, Spain, March 2011), where it sold for 38 € (about US$63 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"1642. Girona. 1 sisè. Lluís XIII. MBC/MBC+ (One seiseno (or "sixth") of 1642, Gerona, Louis XIII, Very Fine/Very Fine+.)"

The second specimen was lot 1407 in Aureo y Calicó sale 423 (Barcelona, December 2023), where it sold for 110 € (about US$143 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[2] noted, "1642. Reaper's war. Girona. 1 sisè. Lluís XIII. MBC+ [choice very fine]." Lluís XIII is better known to history as Louis XIII of France. During the War of the Pyrenees (ended 1659), the French occupied Catalonia with the collaboration of the locals and struck coins there. This type was struck in Gerona 1642-46 and is also known from Tarrega, Bellpuig, Manresa, Sanahuja and Vallis. The Gerona issue is the most common.
