Aureo y Calicó sale 423, lot 1409

This specimen was lot 1409 in Aureo y Calicó sale 423 (Barcelona, December 2023), where it sold for 130 € (about US$168 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "1642. Reaper's war. Oliana. 1 diner. Lluís XIII. Rare. MBC [very fine]." During the War of the Pyrenees (ended 1659), the French occupied Catalonia with the collaboration of the locals and struck coins there. This is the only issue of this town during French rule.
