This specimen was lot 1406 in Aureo y Calicó sale 423 (Barcelona, December 2023), where it sold for 170 € (about US$220 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "1642. Reaper's war. Girona. 1 sisè. Principat. Pointed shield. Attractive. Scarce in this condition. MBC+ [choice very fine]." During the War of the Pyrenees (ended 1659), the French occupied Catalonia with the collaboration of the locals and struck coins there. This scarce type was struck 1640-42. Another seiseno (KM 82) has the bust of king Louis XIII.
