Fribourg 1622 batzen KM-17
This specimen was lot 4178 in SINCONA Auction 98 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 800 CHF (about US$1,161 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ Freiburg/Fribourg, Stadt und Kanton, Batzen 1622, Freiburg. Variante mit dem Hl. Nikolaus auf der Rückseite. Sehr selten. Sehr schön. Exemplar der Slg. Zuberbühler, Auktion SINCONA 16, Zürich, Oktober 2013, Los 5334. (Switzerland, canton of Fribourg, batzen of 1622, Fribourg mint, variety with St. Nicholas on the reverse. Very rare, Very Fine.)"
This type was struck 1622-23, 1630-31, 1639, 1641, 1648. Another batzen of 1622 (KM 15) features a tower on the obverse.
