This specimen was lot 2502 in Goldberg sale 128 (Los Angeles, June 2022), where it sold for $2,040. The catalog description[1] noted, "France. 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil Gold 200 Euros Curved Cup-Shaped Coin. Contains 1 Oz of .999 Fine Gold. It has a very low mintage of 500 coins. Obverse: depicts a map of Brazil delimited by stylized elements of flora and fauna. In the middle of the country map, the competitions logo and official name are represented; Reverse: represents the Maracana stadium in aerial view. The name of the stadium, the name of the competition and the RF mention are inscribed on the roof of the stadium. On the foreground, a ball on which the face value is written, springs from the stadium. Pop 2; Finest at both PCGS and NGC. NGC graded Proof 70 Ultra Cameo." All the NCLT's of this denomination issued in 2014 were one ounce gold. Topics included the Year of the Horse (KM 2131), Ariane launch (KM 2139), Louis XIV (KM 2148), World War I taxis (KM 2180) and Baccarat crystal (KM 2184). The World Cup was also honored with fifty, ten and five euro commemoratives.
