This specimen was lot 2504 in Goldberg sale 128 (Los Angeles, June 2022), where it sold for $108. The catalog description[1] noted, "France. 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil Gold 5 Euros. Contains 0.5 grams of 0.999 fine gold. Its mintage is 5,000. Pop 1; Finest example at NGC. NGC graded Proof 70 Ultra Cameo." Many NCLT's of this denomination were issued in 2014. Topics included the Year of the Horse, Ariane launch, Louis XIV, World War I taxis and Baccarat crystal. The World Cup was also honored with fifty, ten and 200 euro commemoratives.
