Jean Elsen sale 158, lot 1828

This specimen was lot 1828 in Jean Elsen sale 158 (Brussels, March 2024), where it sold for €1,650 (about US$2,146 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"FRANCE, Cinquième République (1959-), AV 200 euro, 2015. Coupe du monde de rugby. Ecrin et certificat n° 127. Titre 0,999. Flan poli. (France, Fifth Republic, since 1959, gold 200 euro of 2015, world cup of rugby. With box and certificate, Proof.)"

All the NCLT's of this denomination issued in 2015 were one ounce gold. Topics included the rugby World Cup (shown here), the Year of the Goat (Fr-1002), Raymond Poincaré (Fr-1006), Charles de Gaulle (Fr-1008), Francois Mitterand (Fr-1010), Les Invalides (Fr-1014), the Little Prince (Fr-1020), 70th anniversary of V-E day (Fr-1027) and the Sevres ceramics factory (Fr-1030). None are listed in the SCWC.
