The first specimen was lot 1423 in Sincona sale 11 (Zürich, May 2013), where it sold for 1,000 CHF (about US$1,238 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"FRANKREICH Charles X. 1824-1830. 2 Francs 1827, Lille. Gadoury 516. Patina. Vorzüglich. (France, Charles X (1824-30), two francs of 1827, Lille mint. Toned, extremely fine.)"

This product of the Lille mint is a common date. All two francs issued prior to 1859, including this one, were demonetized in 1869 to make way for the succeeding issue which was only 0.835 fine.

Recorded mintage: 480,744 (highest mintage date).

Specification: 27 mm diameter, 10 grams, 0.900 fine silver, edge lettered DOMINE SALVUM FAC REGEM. Designed by Auguste François Michaut, 1786-1879, the first specimen 10.02 g.
