This specimen was lot 947 in Jean Elsen sale 123 (Brussels, December 2014), where it sold for €160 (about US$233 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[2] noted,

"FRANCE, Charles X (1824-1830), AR 2 francs, 1827 D, Lyon. Très Beau. (France, Charles X (1824-30), silver two francs of 1827, Lyon mint. Very fine.)"

This product of the Lyon mint is a somewhat better date. All two francs issued prior to 1859, including this one, were demonetized in 1869 to make way for the succeeding issue which was only 0.835 fine.

Recorded mintage: 116,199[1].

Specification: 27 mm diameter, 10 grams, 0.900 fine silver, edge lettered DOMINE SALVUM FAC REGEM. Designed by Auguste François Michaut, 1786-1879.
