This specimen was lot 1249 in Goldberg sale 128 (Los Angeles, June 2022), where it sold for $780. The catalog description[1] noted, "France. ½ Louis d'or, 1695-P (Dijon). Louis XIV. Reverse with four cruciform L's and four crowned de lis. Struck over earlier type. Unlisted, Rare. NGC graded Very Fine Detail (Cleaned)." This date is not priced in Droulers[2], who lists this type for 1693-1700. There are no common dates and nearly all were made using "flans reformées" (older coins).

Recorded mintage: 5,264, all rf[2].

Specification: 3.37 g, 0.917 fine gold, reeded edge, 20-21 mm diameter.
