This specimen was lot 42184 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Oklahoma City, OK, August 2025), where it sold for $4,080. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE. Louis d'Or, 1694-M. Toulouse Mint. Louis XIV. NGC MS-62. A somewhat elusive mint for the type, especially in this fresh Mint State preservation. Overstruck on an earlier type, though most of the details of the undertype are obscured and the overstruck design is quite bold and clear. From the Hough Family Collection." This type, known as a louis d'or aux 4 L, was struck 1693-1700, mostly over older coins. Twenty-four mints contributed in 1694.

Recorded mintage: unknown, all rf, a better date.

Specification: 6.75 g, 0.917 fine gold, 24-26 mm diameter, reeded edge.
