This specimen was lot 74721 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $408. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE. Liard, 1693-A. Paris Mint. Louis XIV. PCGS MS-62 Brown. From the Richard August Collection." This diminutive coin, called a liard de France au buste agé, was the French equivalent of a farthing. This coin was the first issue of liards since 1658. It was struck at Paris 1693-1701 and is common.

Recorded mintage: 1,830,709, a common date[2].

Specification: 3.82 g (4.07 g per Gadoury), copper, 20.3-23 mm diameter, plain edge.
