This specimen was lot 70641 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2022), where it sold for $80. The catalog description[1] noted, "EGYPT. 5 Pounds, AH 1412/1992. PCGS MS-66. Summer Olympic series, Handball. Quite attractive with a striking image of a handball player mid jump about [to] throw a shot. Mostly encountered in Proof, this Mint State example is sure to stand out." The regime emitted numerous silver five pounds in 1992, including KM 701, 702, 703, 704, 705, 706 (shown here), 707, 708 and 806.

Recorded mintage: 999 plus 25,000 proofs.

Specification: 17.5 g, 0.720 fine silver.
