This specimen was lot 29639 in Heritage sale 3040 (Chicago, April 2015), where it sold for $9,400. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic gold Proof 100 Pounds AH1412 (1992) PR69 Ultra Cameo NGC. Struck to commemorate archery in the summer Olympics, this dazzling proof depicts several figures demonstrating their sport. With excellent cameo contrast and deeply-mirrored fields, this superb example with a mintage of just 99 pieces delights in all regards." Egypt issued eight different types for the 1992 Olympics. The tiny mintage suggests the whole issue went to government insiders. The SCWC has only sketches of these, no photos.

Recorded mintage: 49 plus 99 proofs.

Specification: 17 g, 0.900 fine gold, 0.488 troy oz AGW.

Catalog reference: KM 719, Fr-243 (formerly Fr-153).
