This specimen was issued by Egypt to commemorate the signing of the Egyptian-Israeli Peace Treaty. The one pound denomination has typically been used for various commemorative issues. There was a concurrent issue of gold five pounds (KM 517), gold pound (KM 509), gold ten pounds (KM 519) and copper-nickel 10 piastres (KM 504).
