This specimen was lot 45985 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2026), where it sold for $85. The catalog description[1] noted, "EGYPT. Pound, AH 1399/1979. Cairo Mint. NGC MS-68. F.A.O. and International Year of the Child issue." This commemorative was accompanied by a copper-nickel five qirsh (KM 484) struck for circulation.
Recorded mintage: 47,500 plus 2,500 proofs.
Specification: 15 g, 0.720 fine silver, 35 mm diameter.
