This specimen was lot 10281 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €1,680 (about US$1,751). The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. 2 Mark, 1682. Gluckstadt Mint. Christian V. NGC AU-50. Lovely specimen of this rare date with warm golden toning. From the L. E. Bruun Collection. Ex: Countship of Brahesminde Collection. Ex: Peter v. Hemmert Collection." This type was struck at Gluckstadt 1679-81. It has crossed axes for a mintmark; the similar Copenhagen product has initials "GS". Christian V was king of Denmark and duke of Schleswig-Holstein. Two mark was half a krone or one-third speciedaler.
