Denmark-Gluckstadt 1681 krone Dav-3678
This specimen was lot 10279 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €312 (about US$325). The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. Krone, 1681. Gluckstadt Mint. Christian V. NGC AU Details--Cleaned. Appealing coin with gray toning. From the L. E. Bruun Collection. Ex: Countship of Brahesminde Collection (Private Sale-1922)." This type is noted for 1671-73 and 1677-82. A similar krone was struck at Copenhagen (Dav-3637); it has the initials "GS" and a larger crown. Christian V was king of Denmark and duke of Schleswig-Holstein. One krone was four mark or two-thirds speciedaler.
