This specimen was lot 10283 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €216 (about US$225). The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. 2 Mark, 1684-GS. Copenhagen Mint. Christian V. NGC EF-45. Nice toning. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." This type was struck 1684-85, all with initials "GS". Varieties exist in the size of the crown. Christian V was king of Denmark and duke of Schleswig-Holstein. Two mark was half a krone or one-third speciedaler.
