This type was struck in the United States for Cuba 1915-51. The denomination circulated extensively as worn specimens are common while choice examples are expensive. The catalog does not record the "low relief star" and "high relief star" varieties noted for the larger silver denominations.

Recorded mintage: 9,396,000 plus 200 proofs.

Specification: 2.5 g, copper-nickel, plain edge.
