This type was struck in the United States for Cuba 1915-20 and 1932-49. Unlike the pesos, this denomination circulated extensively. This date is scarce compared to the post WW2 issues. The catalog records "low relief star" and "high relief star" varieties and coarse and fine reeding varieties. The specimen shown is the "low relief star" variety, which is common.

Recorded mintage: unknown plus 125 proofs.

Specification: 5 g, 0.900 fine silver, .144 troy oz AGW, 23 mm diameter, reeded edge.
