This specimen was lot 1984 in Sedwick sale 34 (Winter Park, FL, November 2023), where it sold for $120. The catalog description[1] noted, "Santiago, Chile, bust 2 reales, Charles IV, 1799 DA, NGC Fine details / obv scratched. Circulated with thin scratch across bust, golden toning around edges, the only graded example in the NGC census for the type with correct mintmark position." This type was struck 1792-1808 and, tho not common, is less rare than preceding types. This date is known with an inverted mintmark.

Recorded mintage: 41,000.

Specification: 6.77 g, 0.896 fine silver.
