This specimen was lot 1338 in Áureo y Calicó sale 346 (Barcelona, March 2020), where it sold for €1,500 (about US$1,980 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"1799. Carlos IV. Santiago. DA. 4 escudos. Muy rara. MBC-/MBC. (kingdom of Spain, Charles IV, four escudos of 1799, Santiago mint. Very rare, about very fine.)"
This type was struck at Santiago thru 1808 in very small quantities.

Specification: 13.53 g, 0.875 fine gold, .380 troy oz AGW, this specimen 13,47 g.
