Cape Verde 1977 2-1/2 escudos

This specimen is the first coin issued by Cape Verde as part of the F.A.O. series and the first coin of that denomination. It was accompanied by an escudo and features a farmer planting a coffe tree. It was issued again in 1980 and 1982.

Recorded mintage: 1,200,000.

Specification: 7 g, aluminum bronze, 26 mm diameter.
