This specimen was lot 70152 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, May 2020), where it sold for $100. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel. 1/24 Taler, 1815-FR. Brunswick Mint. Fredrich Wilhelm. NGC MS-63. An alluringly toned and choice piece, this shimmering example presents exceptional golden highlights on the reverse." The SCWC states that this type of 1814-15 was worth one groschen, which is true if one speaks of a gute groschen or a mariengroschen. The regular groschen was 1/30 thaler. This type accompanied a 1/12 thaler (KM 1051) and a 1/6 thaler (KM 1052).
