Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel 1806-MC 1/24 thaler
This specimen was lot 3734 in Sincona sale 9 (Zürich, October 2012), where it sold for 100 CHF (about US$126 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DEUTSCHLAND Braunschweig-Lüneburg, Herzogtum Wolfenbüttel. Karl Wilhelm Ferdinand, 1780-1806. 1/24 Taler (Groschen) 1806, Braunschweig. Unbekanntes Jahr? Fast vorzüglich. (Duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, Charles William Ferdinand, 1780-1806, one twenty-fourth thaler or groschen of 1806, Brunswick mint. Unlisted date? Nice extremely fine.)"
This specimen is one of a type struck 1780-1806 along with one-twelfth thalers (KM 1000) and one-sixth thalers (KM 1001).
