This specimen was lot 2118 in Sincona sale 23 (Zürich, May 2015), where it sold for 750 CHF (about US$942 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Herzogtum Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel, Karl I. 1735-1780 5 Taler 1750. Braunschweig. Gutes sehr schön-sehr schön. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, Charles I (1735-80), five thaler of 1750, Brunswick mint. Good very fine.)"
This type is listed for 1742-75 but is rare despite the long run of production. The duke also struck 2½ (Fr-715) and ten thaler gold pieces.
