This specimen was lot 74489 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2023), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Brunswick. 6 Mariengroschen (1/6 Taler), 1733-IAB. Zellerfeld Mint. Ludwig Rudolph. PCGS AU-53. This example offers a russet highlights emanating from beneath the old cabinet toning and a satiny lustrous reverse. Attractive. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This type was struck for Ludwig Rudolph 1731-37. He was previously duke of Brunswick-Blankenburg.
