This specimen was lot 55520 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Brunswick. 12 Mariengroschen, 1727-EPH. Zellerfeld Mint. August Wilhelm. PCGS AU-53. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This type was struck 1714-31 and is fairly common. Twelve mariengroschen made one-third of a thaler or half a gulden.
