This specimen was lot 55515 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $192. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Brunswick. Taler, 1727-EPH. Zellerfeld Mint. August Wilhelm. Extremely Fine Details -- Cleaned, Damaged. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This type was struck 1714-30 and is fairly common. A second thaler (Dav-2127), struck 1716-30, featured the leaping stallion, and a third (Dav-2135, rare) had a bust obverse. One thaler was thirty-six mariengroschen.
