This specimen was lot 562 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €220 (about US$297 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBÜTTEL, HERZOGTUM August Wilhelm, 1714-1731. 1/3 Taler 1727, Zellerfeld. Hübsche Patina, sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, Augustus William, 1714-31, one-third thaler of 1727, Zellerfeld mint. Handsome patina, very fine to extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1716-30 and is common. The concurrent "wild man" coin of the same weight was the twelve mariengroschen (KM 730).
