This specimen was lot 41270 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $600. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Brunswick. 12 Mariengroschen (1/3 Taler), 1683. Zellerfeld Mint. Rudolph August. PCGS AU-58. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This type was struck 1668-84 and is uncommon. Twelve mariengroschen made one third of a thaler or half a gulden. No mintmaster appears on this coin. The equivalent one-third thaler with the leaping stallion reverse did not appear until 1693.
