This specimen was lot 74459 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2023), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Brunswick. 24 Mariengroschen (2/3 Taler), 1680. Zellerfeld Mint. Rudolph August. PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, AU Details. KM-529; Welter-1844. Displaying some evidence of a prior cleaning, but desirable nonetheless as an engaging "Wildman" issue. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This type was struck 1677-85. Another variety, KM 516 without "V. FEIN SILB." on the reverse, was struck 1674-79.
