This specimen was lot 74457 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2023), where it sold for $192. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Brunswick. 24 Mariengroschen (2/3 Taler), 1679. Zellerfeld Mint. Rudolph August. PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, AU Details. An enchanting example, well-centered and fully struck, the details of the Wildman defined and intact. Exhibiting some light wiping over both faces, but quite appealing even so as an example of this popular type. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection. Ex: Peus Auction 305 (10/1982) Lot #498. Original lot tag included." This type was struck 1674-79. Another variety, KM 529 with "V. FEIN SILB." added, was struck 1677-85.
