This specimen was lot 23811 in Heritage sale 3026 (Long Beach, October 2013), where it sold for $822.50. The catalog description^[1] noted, "Jose I gold 6400 Reis 1752-R, AU Details - Removed from Jewelry NGC. Harshly cleaned with small ticks and scrapes consistent with usage in jewelry. From The RLM Collection, Part II." This type was struck 1751-77 from Rio (shown here) and Bahia and is among the more available colonial gold coins of Brazil.
