This specimen was lot 2056 in Ponterio sale 164 (New York, January 2012), where it sold for $891.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "BRAZIL. 150 Reis, 1752-B. Jose I (1750-1777). RARE. A few light scratches, toned. VERY FINE." This silver 150 réis was minted at the Bahia mint for Brazil in 1752-56 and 1768. This coin would have traded in the 18th century at about one-sixth of a Spanish dollar.
